Set at roughly 8,500 feet in the southern Bighorn Mountains, this newly finished Wyoming cabin sits on five private acres ringed by national forest, almost exactly between Buffalo and Ten Sleep. The wrap-around deck looks straight out at some of the best peaks in the range. Mornings start with coffee and mule deer in the meadow; evenings end with a glass of something good, a fire crackling in the wood stove, and a sky so full of stars it feels invented.
Inside, you get the comfort of a modern home with the soul of a mountain cabin: a full kitchen for big family meals, a queen bedroom, a bunk room the kids will fight over, and a roomy loft with three queen beds, a couch, and a TV. Wash off the trail dust in the full bath, run the washer and dryer between adventures, and gather everyone around one of three fire pits when the sun drops behind the ridgeline.

This is high country, so come prepared and come curious. There is no cell service and no WiFi up here — and most guests tell us afterward that the silence was the best amenity of all. You will rediscover card games, rocking chairs, long dinners, and the kind of sleep that only comes at altitude. Bring the ATVs and you can ride straight from the property onto thousands of acres of trails. Bring rods and you are minutes from alpine lakes. Bring the snowmobiles in winter and the cabin becomes your launch pad into untracked powder.

Other things to note
The Piton is a genuine high-country cabin, and a little preparation makes it perfect. Here is everything you should know going in — we would rather over-share than have you surprised.
No cell service, no WiFi — on purpose. Download your maps, music, and any work files before you arrive. Most guests tell us the disconnection ends up being their favorite part.
Elevation ~8,500 ft. Drink extra water, take the first day easy, and expect cool nights even in summer. Weather in the Bighorns changes fast — pack layers and a rain shell.
Off-grid water & septic. The cabin runs on a private well and septic system, which we monitor and service between stays. Please conserve water — shorter showers, minimal flushing — to keep everything running smoothly. It is part of mountain living, and it keeps this place pristine.
Professionally cleaned & inspected. Our team cleans, restocks, and walks the cabin and grounds before every single stay, so you arrive to a tidy, safe, ready-to-enjoy home.
A real mountain setting. You are inside a national forest. The occasional moth or ladybug may find its way in, and you will likely see far more wildlife outside. We screen and treat, but a few wild neighbors are part of the charm.
Gated access. You will pass through a community/ranch gate on the way in — this is normal and expected. Please open it, drive through, and close it behind you. Our directions and the property markers make it simple.
Maps can be unreliable up here. Use the step-by-step directions we provide and follow them over GPS for the final stretch.
Pet-friendly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome — there is no better place to let them roam. Just let us know in advance.
